Sw Air Force Air Base No 6 - F6 - was set up during the first years of the 2nd World War on the shores of Lake Vättern in the midwest of Sweden. Equipped from the beginning with light bombers, originally the licensbuilt Hawker Hart, later replaced by the also licensbuilt but just as obsolete Northrop 8A-1, and then the relatively modern Saab B17. F6 was during its existence until the early 1990's a true bomber, later attack base.
Authors Ragnar Ignell and Börje Räftegård tells the fascinating story of a classic Swedish Air Force bomber/attack unit.
