"Gerillapilot i Biafra" – "Guerrilla Pilot in Biafra".
When the tiny province of Biafra declared independence from Nigeria in the late 1960's, a fierce war broke out. Some called it a rebellious mutiny, to others it was a civil war while the Biafrans themselves saw a war of independence.
To help the poor country defend themselves against the powerful, Soviet-supported Nigeria with a heavily armed air force, Swedish Count Carl-Gustaf von Rosen assumed the task of setting up a Biafran Air Force. Among the aircraft chosen was a batch of small MFI-9 trainers, arbed with French Matra-built rockets. mainly for ground attack.
The fascinating story of this "Biafra Air Force" is here told in full by one of the Swedish volunteer pilots.
